Problem: The customer packages medical pipettes. As with many medical parts, they needed a way to sort, move and package them without human touch. The pipettes are presented wrapped in a sealed, plastic container. The customer needed a system that would singulate and orient each pipette for pickup and placement with a robotic arm.
Solution: Fortville Feeders worked with True Logic Engineering to provide a complete sorting and conveyor system with a vision robot to place the pipettes into the customer packages. Fortville built a conveyor system with a bulk hopper. The wrapped medical parts were singulated as they were lifted from the hopper by the conveying system, then moved onto a staging area. True Logic Engineering integrated the vision and robotic equipment to recognize and pick up each pipette and place them in a package. The entire process eliminated any human touching of the parts.
