Problem: The customer needed a feeder bowl system that met FDA specifications for materials that would come in contact with parts used in drug packaging. The customer had requested that their system be constructed with an electropolished stainless steel wherever it would make contact with the parts.
Solution: Fortville Feeders built a feeder bowl system that utilized 316 stainless steel with a medical grade electropolishing finish. This process smooths the stainless steel surface and removes miniscule metal burrs where bacteria can attach. This was used on the feeder bowl and the subsequent in-line tracking system. Fortville also used the electropolished stainless on the supporting table panels to eliminate any kind of parts rejection if contact was made with the table.
